Meaning

1. Yesterday evening, I was about to eat dinner at home when suddenly the power went out.
2. At first, I thought the electricity just went off for a moment, so I checked because it was completely dark.
3. The neighbors had no power either, so it seemed like the whole neighborhood was out.
4. I used my smartphone light as a substitute for the light, but it was a bit inconvenient.
5. Dinner wasn't ready yet, so I opened the refrigerator door several times.

7. When I went outside, the streetlights were off, so the streets were dark too.
